夏目 とも子
現代美術家
1971 兵庫県西宮市生まれ、 静岡県浜松市在住
その場所にかつてあった役割や暮らし、通った人々、日差しや風雨、積み重ねた時間をすくいとり、壁に封じ込めるように色を重ねる行為を繰り返す。塗り重ねた色はいずれ見えなくなるが、その単純な行為の繰り返しによって、作家自身が場所を理解し身体に取りこみ、そして削る行為へと繋がる。彫り刻むことによりあらわとなる線は、今という時間を確認するための形象となる。

Tomoko Natsume
Visual Artist
Born in 1971 in Hyogo, Japan. Based in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka, Japan.
I paint the site repeatedly with many different layers and colors as if trying to seal everything in to the wall - the function of the place, people who lived there, all the weather that has passed by, the accumulated time and history -
Through my body, my understanding becomes another layer. Then I incise the surface, and the layers and colors of paint appear and add a new image to affirm the current time and place.
